Smart doggie
Paula was telling me about a time that she was jumped at by a friends Great Pyrenees dog. She told me that they used to use that kind of dog to protect flocks of sheep from wolves and Coyotes at night while the shepherd was at his night job or something. Apparently they aren't very social dogs.

Anyway, Paula was at the house with her Border collie Fayvabeans . The pyrenees was trying to play with Faye but out weighing her by about 100 pounds, she didn't really want anything to do with him and feigned headaches or just having her hair done. Paula had been talking to the owner and scratching the dogs head for about an hour, and without thinking, and still talking, she looked down into the dogs eyes. The dog growled and tried to jump at her. Paula pulled a little lawn chair in between her and the dog....but... from out of nowhere, comes little outweighed Fayvabeans the dog......

........Licking the other dog around the face as if to say .."Hey ! Come on lets play! You wanna go play? Come on get the ball!"

Now that my friends, is a smart dog.

She's used the same tactic when another dog has a toy she'd like to play with. She'll come over with something less interesting to herself and wag it in the other dogs face

"Hey! Look at this thing man! You wanna play with this? Doesn't this look fuuuuuun?"

Then when the other dog goes for what Faye has, she gets the whammo she wanted in the first place.

If any animal in the world deserved to have thumbs just on merit alone, she does.

I love the hell out of that dog.
